The Air-Pak Fifty 2.2 is the next generation of Scott Breathing Apparatus. It combines enhanced design features promoting user comfort and convenience, along with proven performance and safety systems. The Air-Pak Fifty 2.2 is a low pressure model — 2216 PSI. The Air-Pak Fifty 2.2 is available with a choice of four types of cylinders; these are the standard aluminum cylinder, lightweight, featherweight, or the new lightweight carbon cylinder. The Air-Pak Fifty has an advanced harness system of durable lightweight aluminum that is contoured to fit the wearer and places the SCBA’s weight on the hips. Wide-bodied pads further distribute weight along the shoulders and back. The E-Z Flo Regulator is a pressure-demand system that out-performs all other SCBA regulators in performance and simplicity. This superior performance is based on a design that significantly reduces inhalation resistance to minimize user fatigue. The AV-2000 Facepiece provides a wide, unobstructed peripheral vision because of its broad cone-shaped lens. Long service life is promoted because the interior and exterior surfaces are hard-coated to resist abrasion. The unique pressure reducer, unlike all other SCBA’s, provides two pressure reducers in one, which are interconnected through an automatic transfer valve. In the event that the air supply is transferred to the secondary system, the user is alerted by the Vibralert.
